About Scorpio Clinics
I am a Chartered Physiotherapist and Registered Osteopath. I run four clinics under the "Scorpio" flag: they are sited at Virginia Water, Egham, Ashford and Lightwater. It all started in a little cupboard in a corner of Egham Leisure Centre over 20 years ago!Scorpio Clinics is now staffed by a fantastic team of physios, osteopaths, pilates instructors and an acupuncturist, a nutritionist and a massage therapist. We all work together as a team to restore our clients to good health. Typically we will work on musculoskeletal disorders such as tendinitis, back and neck pain, whiplash, lower and upper limb injuries etc. We have physios with special interests particularly in sports injuries, Women’s Health, rotator cuff problems, chronic back pain, knee injuries etc. But our Chinese acupuncturist also treats all sorts of other issues such as infertility, skin complaints etc
We work closely with local orthopaedic consultants to look after and rehabilitate their post-operative patients. This includes knee ligament reconstructions, hip and knee replacements, discectomy, spinal fusion, achilles tendon repairs, rotator cuff repairs........
My training, work experience and any achievement
I trained as a physio first at Guy’s Hospital, qualifying in 1988. I spent five years working in the NHS at Ashford,Kingston, Surbiton, St Lukes hospitals and also at a private hospital in Croydon. I completed a five year part time BSc in osteopathy ten years later. I founded Scorpio in the late eighties and since then we have developed into a well respected local clinic.I combine my skills with every patient I treat, so everyone gets a mixture of osteopathy and physio - often with some Chinese acupuncture or dry needling thrown in.
As with all professionals in the healthcare sector I am obliged to complete a number of CPD (continuing professional development) hours each year. I usually complete at least five times the required amount. We are pleased to offer you at Scorpio not just the usual mobilisation/manipulation and rehab skills that you would expect to find in any multi-disciplinary clinic: but also the graston technique, Sarah Key method, Dorn method, Emmett Technique, Fascial Manipulation and PIM technique.
We have a beautiful pilates studio with a very talented team of pilates instructors who teach one to one pilates.
